Funding available for your future in superyachting


UKSA, is offering four young people the chance of a lifetime to gain a place on the Trinity House Yachting Cadetship. Starting this autumn, successful applicants will not only have their full course fees paid, but will also receive a maintenance grant to help fund them through their studies over the three years of the programme.

The Trinity House Yachting Cadetship is a three year programme which includes a Foundation Degree in Operational Yacht Science and is designed for anyone with a passion for working on board superyachts. Developed with the MCA and their approved training guidelines, the Cadetship provides students training coupled with valuable paid work placements working on superyachts all over the world.

Jon Ely, Chief Executive at UKSA, commented: “The Trinity House Yachting Cadetship offers students a unique opportunity to study to the very highest level whilst gaining qualifications and invaluable work experience – and all fully funded by Trinity House. We are proud to be able to offer such exciting opportunities to the successful applicants, and look forward to working closely with them to help them achieve their career goals.”

In order to be successful, candidates must be aged between 18 and 25 and possess GCSEs (or equivalent) in English, Maths and Science, passed with grades A-C, as well as A or AS level qualifications equivalent to minimum of 120 UCAS points - or equivalent worked based learning for those over 21.

Try watersports for free at UKSA

UKSA is inviting anyone over the age of 8 to register for some free watersports trial sessions this June 5th. Places are limited and will be offered on a first come first served basis.

On offer on the day will be a number of 2 hour sessions with the option to take part in either :-

  • Dinghy sailing,
  • Kayaking 
  • Keelboating.

** New ** Commercial Yachtmaster course date released

Due to overwhelming demand for our 12 week Commercial Yachtmaster course we have now released a very limited number of places on a new course from 14th June - 7th September.

A great option for those looking for a summer adventure, the course takes you up to RYA Yachtmaster Offshore in sail, great for both those looking to work in the yachting industry, as well as those wanting to develop their personal sailing skills.

As the course is running over the summer months, you will be perfectly placed to soak up the atmosphere of the annual Cowes Week sailing event in August. Training in the Solent is a fantastic training ground preparing you for a career afloat.
